We talk about this a lot, but it bears repeating, mirrors are one of the simplest accent pieces for adding a quick touch of style to any room in your home. Mirrors are incredibly diverse because they come in a fantastic variety of sizes, styles, and colors.

One of the greatest examples of form and function that you can add to your bedroom, a large walk-in closet or dressing room, or even a large master bathroom suite is a cheval mirror. This is basically the same as a full length mirror. They work very well when hung on a long open wall in a bedroom. What's nice about this is you can find a cheval in a variety of widths, so for your bedroom look for a nice wide mirror with a decorative frame to add style and function to an open space in the room. For a bathroom or dressing room, look for a cheval that is a little narrower with a simple frame.

If you are not interested in hanging something on the wall, but are still looking to add a pop of style with a mirror, then look into a standing mirror. These are especially nice for a master bedroom suite. This is because they are mobile. Most mirrors of this style come with either an easel back stand or a pivot stand. This makes the view adjustable for the ultimate functionality and they are often light weight so you can move them as often or as little as you see fit. It's perfect for the DIY personality that likes to move around the furniture in their home often.

We've talked quite a bit about using these types of mirrors in your bedroom and dressing areas, but full length mirrors also work well in other areas of the home. They make for very nice transition pieces from room-to-room. They also work well to add the illusion of space or light to a room. When placed opposite the windows in a room, a cheval mirror can reflect the light to make the room brighter. A standing mirror in a hallway or on a set of stairs with a turn can create a fantastic illusion making the space appear longer or wider.

In short, mirrors can do so much for the design and day-to-day function of your home, so be creative and you'll find something just right for your project.
