• International Styling Highlight—Post # 2—China!

Earlier in the week, we told you about Fresh Home Magazine’s brilliant pictorial spread of international inspired interior design and we gave you ideas on a Mexican inspired theme. This week we’re travelling across the globe to highlight our next favorite of the designs they featured—to China! To style your home with a Chinese inspired motif you should focus on reds and blues. Try a strip of Asian-inspired wallpaper in the middle of one of your walls, using the white on the sides to act as a frame to your elegant picture. It’s like wallpaper wall art—with your walls doing the framing! Round, paper lanterns in groups can add a great touch for your lighting accent. Don’t forget all the other accents needed to make a room cozy, though. Try out antique Asian inspired vases and urns with signature blue detailing and a paper umbrella on a side table. While Chinese inspired design is a little more difficult to put an entire room together, it can be done with a little time and creativity. Additionally, if you’d like to carry the theme throughout the entire house, there are many products you can find online to use in every room—like the funky bathroom vanity found at UniqueVanities.com shown in the picture following this post! And if you’re not looking for an entire cabinet, but simply a vanity mirror—there are options out there for that too!
